Laura Freas, SHRM-SCP, Senior HR Consultant

Laura Freas is a HR leader with over 20 years of experience in performance management, employee relations, training, compensation planning, and workforce operations. She has held key leadership roles at Ernst & Young, Wipfli, and PwC, where she successfully developed and executed strategic HR initiatives, including talent management, DE&I priorities, and operational efficiencies across large, multi-market teams.

At EY, Laura served as Regional HR Talent Consultant for the Business Consulting practice, supporting over 500 employees across 15 markets. She led critical HR functions, from performance management and compensation planning to employee engagement and compliance, while partnering with senior leadership to drive cultural and strategic talent initiatives. Her work included managing employee relations, leading people advisory forums and office wide DE&I committees,  demonstrating her commitment to building inclusive and thriving workplaces.

Laura’s expertise in people strategy, change management, data analytics and HR technology has made her a trusted advisor to leadership teams, ensuring that HR initiatives align with business goals. Her contributions at Wipfli included design and implementation of firm-wide performance management processes,  integrating newly acquired offices, developing firm-wide training programs, and supporting students through leading the partnership with Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.

A lifelong Minnesotan from East Grand Forks, Laura is a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan, frequent traveler to London, and passionate supporter of Alzheimer’s disease care and research. She enjoys time on Minnesota lakes, recurring book club gatherings, golfing, gardening and traveling to warm destinations. Her Goldendoodle, Holly, is her constant companion, and her love for Prince adds a unique flair to her vibrant personality.
