With new 2024 regulations, economic challenges, and an upcoming election, small business owners are preparing for a tough year. Despite layoffs in the larger job market, small businesses are hiring. However, they are struggling to fill job positions.

In 2023, the Small Business Association (SBA) noted there were 33.3 million small businesses (classified as under 500 employees) across the country – that’s 99.9% of all U.S. businesses, and they employ more than 61.6 million people. Small businesses added almost 13 million jobs in the last 25 years; approximately two-thirds of all new jobs added to the economy. [1]
